Kotaku investigates Bloodborne’s “playable werewolf” rumour ahead of strategy guide release

I’ve seen a lot of chatter lately that indicates the werewolf connection in Bloodborne for PS4 is deeper than I wrote about last week, and in a gargantuan Kotaku post Patricia Hernandez catalogs the evidence. The conclusion: even though you’re killing werewolves in the game, you’re probably a werewolf yourself, too. (more…)

Want to run over 6 miles through an urban obstacle course in Malaysia while being terrorized by werewolves? Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Like an actual, literal nightmare. But if you like running and you happen to be in Putrajaya on July 31st, check out BloodRunner. (more…)

Mild-mannered Mediterranean “wereplant” transforms & reproduces under the full moon

Werewolves may finally have an antidote to wolfsbane. Two researchers from the University of Stockholm have discovered that Ephedra foeminea, an otherwise nondescript (“rather ugly”) plant found in the eastern Mediterranean region, reproduces only by the light of the full moon. (more…)

7 days left to brutalize your bridge game with illustrated werewolf playing cards

I’ve learned a lot in 10 minutes from this Kickstarter campaign. I didn’t know the world of playing cards has its own hyper-articulate vocabulary, or that it was possible to make playing cards look so bad-ass that Mr. Torgue would approve of them. (more…)

Bloodborne’s werewolves look rad & work hard, please don’t farm them

Bloodborne is a new PlayStation 4 game that’s so difficult it’s making gamers cry. It’s also making me cry because I’m receiving reports that players are farming the game’s werewolf enemies. Farming them! (more…)

“Who Needs The Moon?” concludes by annihilating the illusion of agency

Todd McCullough’s brutal eight-part graphic novel concludes with two issues about arrogance, death, and the consequences of betrayal. Oh, and I get murdered by a werewolf in a cameo. (more…)

Travis Betz & Max Landis recreate no-budget “American Werewolf In London” transformation

I missed this when it first came out last summer but it’s the sort of thing that keeps indefinitely. Screenwriter and director Max Landis stood in for David Naughton in a bare-bones shot-for-shot remake of the famous transformation scene from his father’s film An American Werewolf in London. (more…)
