Diamond Select Toys has given Dread Central an exclusive look at three upcoming additions to its licensed Universal Monsters collection: the Wolf Man, the Mummy, and an original take on Lucy Westenra from Bram Stoker’s Dracula. They’re detailed, articulated, and totally not for me. (more…)

Believe it or not, there are werewolf movies other than “An American Werewolf in London”.
Kill The Beast’s Scooby-Doo / Twin Peaks / werewolf mystery show “He Had Hairy Hands”

If that title seems like a conglomeration of random words, let me un-muddle you: He Had Hairy Hands is an award-winning show by comedy quintet Kill The Beast, and it’s touring select theatres in the UK right now.
Three fashionably hairy werewolf film & TV prop limbs

I tried on an Apple Watch earlier today, but now I’m thinking there’s a way to accessorize my limbs that’s less ostentatious and more distinctive: werewolf hands, feet and leg props for sale at Prop Store. Here are three lycanthropic lots currently for sale. (more…)
An American Werewolf in London may return for Universal Orlando’s 25th Halloween Horror Nights

Good news if you’re going to be in Florida this Halloween. There are rumours that for its 25th anniversary, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights might have as its “big bad” feature the acclaimed An American Werewolf in London haunted house from 2013. (more…)
Q&A with John Keogh, illustrator of The Mountain Goats’ “Werewolf Gimmick” tour poster

Out today: “Beat The Champ“, the new wrasslin’-themed record from The Mountain Goats. You should go buy it on Amazon or iTunes (or at least give it a listen) and then check out this deadly gorgeous tour poster drawn by John Keogh and inspired by the song “Werewolf Gimmick”. (more…)

Travis Betz & Max Landis recreate no-budget “American Werewolf In London” transformation

I missed this when it first came out last summer but it’s the sort of thing that keeps indefinitely. Screenwriter and director Max Landis stood in for David Naughton in a bare-bones shot-for-shot remake of the famous transformation scene from his father’s film An American Werewolf in London. (more…)
The X-Files returns for 6 episodes, puts Werewolf News in danger

I’m excited at today’s announcement that seminal 90’s paranormal investigation series The X-Files is returning to Fox for a limited series. But I’m nervous, too, because if any of the new episodes resurrect and validate a long-debunked rumour, I’ll have no choice but to end Werewolf News. (more…)
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”‘s Titus Andromedon gets more respect as a werewolf

Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the funniest thing I’ve seen all year. Much of that humour comes from the friction between the show’s absurd characters and its uneasy commentaries on race, gender and class. One such scene happens mid-season and stars my favourite character as a werewolf. (more…)
Watch gorgeous, funny & sexy “She-Wolf Of The Woods” for free

“Meat that dies happy, dies tender.” Last summer I posted about She-Wolf Of The Woods, an indie horror short created by Adriana Polito and her team on a tiny budget, with beautiful / scary / funny / NSFW results. Now She-Wolf is available to watch for free on YouTube! (more…)
