Burton and Depp to Collaborate on Dark Shadows Remake

As reported by a number of different sources, most of which are drawing from the original IESB.net release, Tim Burton will be directing a film adaptation of the 1960s gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. It’s looking likely that Johnny Depp will be involved as well– his production company, Infinitum-Nihil, has been developing the property, and he’s said in at least one interview that when he was a kid, he wanted to be Barnabas Collins, the vampiric lead character.

Narnia Director Plans Werewolf Movie

Andrew Adamson, director of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and the first two Shrek movies, is developing the werewolf novel Benighted into a film. Adamson mentions it in an interview with the NZ Herald, where he talks about the pleasure of working on a less family-oriented feature.

Dave Legeno To Play Werewolf in Next Harry Potter Film

Andrew Manson Personal Management has announced that actor Dave Legeno, whom they represent, will be playing the Death Eater werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the forthcoming Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. No special effects photos yet, but as soon as they become available you know I’ll post them!

Chelsea Quinn Yarbro on Werewolves

Blogcritics Magazine has published a lengthy interview with Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, the prolific author behind the Saint-Germain series— historical horror fiction about vampires. I’ve never read any of her books, but she has some interesting things to say about the depiction of werewolves in fiction.

The Astounding Wolf-Man Is Now Monthly

Good news! According to Comic Book Resources, everyone’s favourite new werewolf superhero, Gary Hampton, will be coming to visit every month, instead of every 60 days. That’s right– starting July 30th, The Astounding Wolf-Man, the bi-monthly feature by Jason Howard and Robert Kirkman, will be published once a month.
