The Howl Con site has just made official the return of North America’s premiere werewolf convention. Howl Con II is happening in Vancouver, WA (minutes north of Portland, OR) on February 6th and 7th, 2016. Early-bird weekend passes are available now!
If you’re thinking of going, have a look at my review of Howl Con 2015. I was there as a guest, but I invested several hundreds dollars in dealer and hotel fees – not to mention time off work and a day’s drive – and I can objectively say that it was the best convention experience Tandye and I have ever had.
As with 2015, registering early gets you a deal: the first 25 registrants can use the “earlybird” code to get a weekend pass for $30 instead of $40.
Registering early is one of the best ways to support conventions you love. Putting your cash on the barrel up front provides the event with capital to book guests and fund special events, and with the 75th anniversary of The Wolf Man‘s release happening in 2016, there could be some pretty special guests on the bill. Hint, hint.
Right now you can participate as a dealer or suggest programming ideas (seriously, you only need to suggest ideas, no need to have all the details figured out). You can also submit your short film for screening by sending an email here.
Wolf Haven International will return as the convention’s charity partner. I got to chat with the representatives from Wolf Haven and they were seriously excellent people doing important work.
For more information, keep an eye on the Howl Con web site and Twitter account. I hope to see you there!
