Blizzard Reveals WoW: Cataclysm’s Female Worgen

When Blizzard announced that their upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm would feature a werewolf-like race called the Worgen, I got excited, and I don’t even play WoW. It was weird, though, that all of the concept art and screenshots were of male Worgen. “Where,” the Internet groaned, “are the lady-wolfs“? Oh, wait, here they are.

As reported by The Escapist and several other sources, Blizzard recently released these “work in progress” images to show the character models and the way they’ll look in the different armour types (probably, that is– these are subject to change). Click on any of the images below for a (much) bigger version.

Dougherty Comments on Werewolf “Bitches”

As we reported earlier this month, Michael Dougherty is planning a TV series for Fox about female werewolves. The show is tentatively entitled Bitches. Earlier this month, Dougherty spoke to ShockTillYouDrop.com about some of the more carnal motivations behind the show.

The funny thing is I have always had this weird obsession with female werewolves. Even going back to The Howling there’s that famous transformation sequence that Joe Dante did with the fire and lovemaking. To me that was indicative of female sexuality – all sexuality has this beastly side of it. If you’re a werewolf, it should just be another aspect of yourself you’re trying to deal with. You do want to explore those parallels of being a werewolf and human sexuality. How can you date and fall in love with someone when you’re a werewolf and you start to turn when you’re aroused?

Very interesting, Michael. Very interesting indeed.

Werewolf Woman Face Paint

Werewolf Face Paint

Flickr user ktb8293 recently posted some photos of herself sporting some pretty excellent werewolf face paint. If you’re looking to go as a werewolf this Halloween but want to keep things cheap, simple and cool (ever tried wearing a full-head werewolf mask to a party for three hours?), I recommend you study ktb8293’s technique.

UPDATE: ktb8293 has posted a video tutorial of the whole process on YouTube. I watched the whole thing with my mouth open in astonishment, and right after I click “update” on this post I’m gonna run out to the store and get some makeup. Seriously amazing.

Werewolf “Bitches” Are Coming To Fox

Leave it to Fox to option a TV show with a title like Bitches. Us snobby werewolf fans ought not to roll our eyes, though! As reported by Fangoria, writer and director Michael Dougherty is bringing a series about werewolves to the small screen in 2009. The show’s called Bitches, and it’s about four female werewolves living in New York. Says Dougherty:

It’s Sex & The City with werewolves! They seduce people, then they eat them! The series will answer the questions: how do they feed, where do they work… It’s very funny.

Not much else is known about the series at this time, but you can keep an eye on Dougherty’s site for updates… and you know anything juicy will get posted here at Werewolf News too!

Rob Zombie’s Werewolf Women to Get Their Own Comic

Werewolf Women of the S.S. posterAs reported on his blog and discussed by myriad other sources, Rob Zombie is planning a comic series based on Werewolf Women of the S.S., one of the trailers-for-fake-movies that ran with Grindhouse. There’s no other information available at the moment —no release date, publisher or artist— but as soon as that info becomes available, you know we’ll post it here schnell. Oh, and if you’d like to see the original (probably NSFW) trailer, here you go.
