Fangoria Interview: Wolfman‘s Hugo Weaving Wishes Film Press Would “Get Their Shit Together”

In a recent interview with Fangoria, Hugo Weaving talks about his experiences playing Scotland Yard detective Aberline in the new Wolfman movie. Weaving has consistently been one of my favourite actors (come on, the guy has played a drag queen, a murderous computer program and an ageless elf king). In this exclusive interview he talks about bringing life to a character that wasn’t in the original 1940’s Wolfman, his enthusiasm for a well-written script, and what it was like to work with (and be a subject of) special effects artist Rick Baker. He also comments on the negative effect that press and distribution delays can have on the public’s enthusiasm for a film– something we’ve all seen with the repeated delays The Wolfman has been subject to. But with the recent trailer generating a lot of excitement, The Wolfman is starting to generate some positive buzz again– hopefully that will only increase as the February release date approaches. Zuda Comic’s High Moon to be a Film?

ShockTillYouDrop.com and BloodyDisusting.com are both reporting on a Production Weekly update that mentions a werewolf script getting some attention in Hollywood these days. From the PW post:

In Eddie Nickerson’s horror Western ‘High Moon’ a reckless outlaw is a small town’s only hope for survival from a vicious band of werewolves.

There’s nothing further to go on at the moment, but the title and the premise sound a lot like David Gallaher and Steve Ellis’s outstanding web series High Moon. Let’s hope they’re one and the same!

Is Ridley Scott Making a Werewolf Movie?

I sure hope so! As reported by Bloody-Disgusting and several other sites, famed director / producer Ridley Scott has just purchased an original werewolf-related script from screenwriter Ian Jeffers. Nothing else is known at this time, but there’s already speculation that Scott’s recent actor of choice, Russell Crowe, will star as the lycanthropic lead in whatever film this script turns into. Only time will tell.

Offical “Wolfman” Plot Synopsis

Shock Till You Drop has apparently got the scoop on the “official” plot synopsis for The Wolfman. No surprises, but it’s nice to see they haven’t fluffed it up with a lot of silly Hollywood chintz.
