Note as of 2017-07-07: this page is about a year out of date, but will be getting a HUGE update in the next few days!
Did you lose track of all the werewolf movies coming out lately? I did, and it’s kinda my job to keep tabs on them all! Here’s a cheat sheet to help you keep up on releases and plan your purchases or pre-orders.
2017
- Underworld: Blood Wars. The Underworld saga continues. Directed by Anna Foerster and starring Kate Beckinsale. Currently in post-production, with a theatrical release planned for January 2017.
- The Wildness. Stoner ski-bum versus rich-kid werewolves. As of March 2016, in pre-production near Vancouver, Canada. Directed by Marcel Sarmiento.
- Bad Vibes, starring Elijah Wood. A psychedelic werewolf cult versus “squares” in 1969. Was set to shoot in Austin in October 2015, so it’s probably in post production now.
2016
- WolfCop II, the sequel to the best thing to come out of Canada since poutine. Directed by Lowell Dean, and starring Leo Fafard, Amy Matysio, and Yannick Bisson. Currently in post-production.
- Little Dead Rotting Hood, directed by Jared Cohn and starring Eric Balfour andBianca A. Santos. Zombies, werewolves, fairy tales, and the handsome guy who plays Duke on Haven. Available on DVD in North America.
- Uncaged, directed by Daniel Robbins and starring Ben Getz. Has one hell of a cool poster and a great trailer, but it didn’t fare well in our Full Moon Features. Available now on DVD in North America. In the UK, it comes out March 21st on DVD / streaming under the title “Beast Within”.
- Howl, directed by Paul Hyett, starring Ed Speleers, Holly Weston and Elliot Cowan. If traffic to this site is an accurate measurement of interest, this is the film of the year. With this trailer, it’s no wonder. Available on DVD in North America and DVD, Blu-ray and streaming / download in the UK.
- Crying Wolf, directed by Tony Jopia, starring Caroline Munro, Joe Egan and Kristofer Dayne. Available for streaming and on DVD in North America and on DVD in the UK. Eviscerated by Full Moon Features.
