Hey UK werewolf people, you have a week to register for the “She-Wolf” conference

A. Quinton — Aug. 20th 2010

I mentioned it in June and I’m reminding you again, so that perhaps some of you will register, and go, and tell me all about it. If you need a reminder about what the conference is, here is that reminder:

The conference is entitled She-Wolf: Female Werewolves, Shapeshifters and Other Horrors in Art, Literature and Culture (but She-Wolf for short). It’s on Thursday 9th – Friday 10th September 2010, at the University of Manchester, UK.

This is a smart conference put on by smart people who want to talk about werewolves, women, and werewolf women. They’ve got 40-ish spots left, so if you’re in the area, I encourage you to go. Check out the conference site or the official blog for more info.

  • Hey! Thanks for the reminder post! There are indeed a few places left – though not quite the 40 that the website says! But room enough.

If you have a look at the conference blog, you’ll also see that we’ve got a couple of non-academic ‘fringe’ events that should be a lot of fun.

And for US werewolf fans, I am still working on a way of doing something online for you guys.

Hope to see some of you in September.

  • If I lived in the UK, I’d definitely be going!

  • Viergacht

Damn, wish I could go! Hopefully someone will tape & post it.

  • We’re on twitter now as well (@shewolfmanc), so follow us to get updates about the project.

  • Dic!

Are there going to be any recordings of it uploaded anywhere?

  • I haven’t been able to sort anything out as yet. I haven’t got the facilities myself, but I’m trying to find a helpful media student who will help out. It would be a shame to deprive all our interested US people. Of course, if a rich US uni would pay me to come over and run a repeat conference in the States… I wouldn’t say no! ;-)

Any updates on what materials will be available online will be posted on the blog as and when they’re sorted.
