Werewolves in Brazil

As everyone and their sainted aunt is reporting (including the ever-vigilant ArcLight), Stone Village Pictures has acquired the rights to Lobo, a script by Dikran Ornekian and Ryan Colluci “about a colony of werewolves in Brazil.” Everyone’s basically reposting the same blurb from Variety:

…a man receives a photo and letters from his mother’s will, then heads to an isolated town in the Amazon to discover his roots. There, he discovers a near-extinct species of werewolves and his true identity, and he helps the werewolves wage a battle for survival.

Fighting to help keep werewolves from extinction? That’s a premise I can get behind! Filming starts October 15th in Rio de Janeiro.

SO many things wonderful happening on my birthday! Haha. That’s the same day Superman and Batman take on Werewolves and Vampires! ;) Thanks for the information as always.

Ah, I’ve been to Brazil, and let me tell you: it’s a pretty hot environment for any type of wolf, were or not! Nevertheless, how cool would it be for these werewolves to develop their own savage version of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Sure, that’s a stretch, but the 15 year-old in me can’t help but imagine a legendary lycanthrope like AWIL’s David or Capcom’s Jon Talbain landing a flying armbar on Janet Reno as her BATF agents slip on jelly donuts and shoot themselves in the leg trying to counterattack the sudden ambush of lupine bad-assity.

Roukas, there may still be time for them to hire you as a script consultant! :D

Jess, is there an October super hero vs. monsters showdown that I’m not aware of?

What I’ve come to understand is that on October 15th DC is putting out a six issue miniseries thing about Superman and Batman fighting against vampires and werewolves. There isn’t much known about it, but there is a promo art floating around.
