A shoestring budget found-footage feature that puts six friends on a camping trip into a scenario where maybe having murdered a Sasquatch is the least of their worries.

Clara, a nurse from a São Paulo favela, finds herself the adoptive mother of a werewolf child after his mother dies during childbirth. This Brazilian horror drama is currently playing at festivals, raking in stellar reviews and favourable comparisons to Let the Right One In. No information yet available on wider distribution, but there’s no way this one will disappear.

“A group of friends go to an abandoned house for a weekend away, only to come across a mad scientist with some monster-making goo.” This B-movie didn’t make its Indiegogo goal but they went and made it anyway. This looks like mesmerizing lo-fi neon insanity.

Blumhouse is producing a screen adaptation of this excellent 4-part comic series by writer Michael Moreci & artist Tim Daniel. As of May 2016 they were still in the paperwork phase. The comics are available as a trade paperback on Amazon, Comixology and direct from publisher Boom Studis!.

This re-release is loaded with new and exclusive extras, including a director’s cut, a making-of featurette, and commentary tracks by director Eric Red and photojournalist/werewolf actor Michael Paré.

This movie’s home media debut doesn’t have a ton of extras, but it’s a hi-def transfer, so you know those 70’s fashions will look crisp. Thank you, Scream Factory.

The feature film based on the classic Sega video game (“WISE fwum yo gwaabe”) was announced in 2014, but there’s been no developments since a big-name production company was attached in December 2016.

This low budget exploitation film boasting Angus Scrimm‘s final screen role doesn’t look great, but this Amazon review is amazing:

A successfully-crowdfunded indie horror film that was released to backers and some reviewers in the autumn of 2017. I’m really liking that visual identity work, and the reviews posted to its Facebook page sound fairly positive, but it’s not clear how folks who missed the crowdfunding effort can get a copy.

Sure, why not? Jason Bateman’s always good. Lots of new special features on this Scream Factory edition, too, considering the film’s less-than-stellar reception.

This Scream Factory edition of the ultimate 80s artifact features a new high-def film transfer and a 143-minute documentary about the making of the film (featuring new interviews from the cast and crew).

Based on the comic of the same name, this lowbrow feature doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not, and is accordingly more satisfying than you might guess based on the name, you snob.

This low-budget British film mostly takes place at a cottage in the countryside. In it, two very worried people who may or may not be engaged yell, get partly undressed, and brandish weapons at an ominous shape.

A psychedelic werewolf cult versus “squares” in 1969. It’s been in development since 2011 and was set to shoot in Austin in October 2015. The lack of recent news makes it unclear whether that actually happened or if it’s gone back into limbo.

This sequel to the 2014 film WolfCop was green-lit before the original even premiered. In 2016 it made the rounds at festivals in North America. It debuted in Canadian theatres in December 2017, and is likely to see wider theatrical release and distribution on Netflix and other VOD services in 2018.

Zombies, werewolves, fairy tales, and the handsome guy who plays Duke on Haven.

Has one hell of a cool poster and a great trailer, but it didn’t fare well in our Full Moon Features. Released in the UK under the title “Beast Within”.

A “hardcore horror film” that Adam R. Steigert has been promising for years. It started production in June 2017 and is being promoted on its Facebook page with the tag “#fang2018”. As of January 2018 they’re sharing promotional stills.

Two years ago I wrote “If traffic to this site is an accurate measurement of interest, this is the film of the year.” It wasn’t, nor did its release outside of the UK seem like more than an afterthought, but it’s still pretty good.

A werewolf western filmed in southern England that takes forever to get anywhere and doesn’t know what to do when it gets there.

“Når dyrene drømmer” in the original Danish. An ominous, nearly minimalist look at a young woman’s response to a hereditary physiological condition. Hint: it’s not the gene that makes cilantro taste like shit to some people.

The gross, childish, over-the-top b-movie that I will love and cherish forever. One of Canada’s finest exports. Pairs well with a can of cheap beer.

Imagine, a movie where the main character knows what kind of monster he’s dealing with before the average audience member has finished their first drink! If you want to spoil yourself and get a look at the werewolf, click this way.

Don’t concern yourself with the complicated mythology and “daddy issues” plot – this thing has Jason Momoa as a werewolf, and some of the best practical werewolves ever. Check out some close-ups of that werewolf makeup here.

By all accounts, Bill Oberst Jr. is the only saving grace in this dog’s breakfast of a werewolf movie, which received one of the most savage Full Moon Features yet.

Even if it didn’t have (extremely funny, polite and well-designed) werewolves in it, this would still be the best vampire movie ever made.

The Underworld saga continues, for better or worse.
