Last Exit to Nowhere is a UK-based t-shirt company that specializes in designs “which are inspired and pay homage to some of the most memorable places, corporations and companies in 20th century fiction.” They’ve got some prettyincredibleshirtdesigns, including one that fans of An American Werewolf in London will recognize:
ArcLight just sent in word that Mezco Toyz is now taking preorders for a 7″ Wolfman action figure. For $18.00 US, you can secure a figure that has “intense film accurate detail, 12 points of articulation, and sculpted clothing”. It ships in April 2009, just in time for the realease of the film. I don’t know about you, but I’ve already placed a preorder for this sharp little guy, and I’m seriously considering the 12″ version as well.
If you’re a fan of werewolf special effects, you’re probably familiar with Alex CF’s super-detailed lycanthrope research case– I mentioned it back in April, and it’s still pretty much the coolest piece of three-dimensional art I’ve seen. Apparently a lot of other people dug it too, because he’s made another one.
Visit Alex’s site for more pictures, and for an excellent (and lengthy) video tour of the kit’s components. This man is all about detail.
This isn’t exactly news, considering it’s from last year, but it’s worth sharing because it’s quite impressive, and because this has been a slow week for news.
AlexCF, self-described “retrofuture cryptozoological assemblage artist”, created a Victorian-era werewolf research case as an art piece. The attention to detail is simply astounding– from the hand-written letters and documents that form the back story to the fur, tissue and fang samples and preserved werewolf fetus, it’s clear that a lot of effort went into this.
A lucky private collector managed to snag this creation when AlexCF auctioned it on Ebay last year.
