Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Screenshots (in Which a Werewolf is Beaten Up)

A. Quinton — Apr. 15th 2010

Everything old is new again, even Castlevania. I spent the summer of 1987 hitting things with Simon Belmont’s whip, and now Kanomi is rebooting the series so that today’s gamers can hit things with Gabriel Belmont’s whip. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is being developed for the Xbox 360 and the PS3, and should be out later this year. Here are two screenshots from a batch that Kanomi recently released (thanks, CinemaBlend), and they’re the only two that show any combat. Fortunately(?) that combat is against a werewolf. Click madly on the images below for (much) larger versions.

    D= Poor Wolfie xD

    Well, at least in Castlevania Series werewolfs had their chance in Jugdment (Playing as Cornell, the Mettallic Werewolf) and in Castlevania Legacy of Darkness (Also with Cornell)

    It almost looks like the werewolf in those shots do not have a muzzle. A more defined wolf muzzle and it would look fine. Damn fine.

    I hear Metal Gear Solid’s Kojima is going to be behind this. This means that we’re going to be treated to so many double, triple, and quadruple-crosses that we won’t know what’s going on in the game, but we’ll have to pretend we do to convince ourselves that we’re smart. Then, when we actually DO figure out what was going on, we’ll realize it was pretty damn stupid (except for the werewolf parts ofc), but we’ll pretend that it was not because the soundtrack was moving and because there were a lot of moments like: “But…FATHER! You never…taught me how to…love!”
